KDMC
Knight Digital Media Center
KDMC's annual news leadership conference attracts top newspaper editors from across the country.
This week the Knight Digital Media Center is hosting top editors from a dozen US papers for its annual news leadership conference. Veteran journalist and KDMC blogger Michele McLellan will be live-blogging the whole thing, beginning 5 pm Pacific today and continuing through Friday July 18. Watch her News Leadership 3.0 blog for coverage. (RSS feed)

Here are a couple of highlights from the conference agenda (all times are Pacific):

  • Tuesday, 7-9 pm: Keynote: Seven Deadly Myths of Innovation, by Krisztina "Z" Holly, USC Stevens Institute for Innovation.
  • Wednesday, 8:30-10 am: Understanding the Economics of Digital News and Information, with Jay Hamilton (Duke Univ.), and former Tidbits contributors Vin Crosbie (Digital Deliverance) and Steve Yelvington (Morris DigitalWorks)
  • Wednesday, 3:45-5:30 pm: Role of Social Media, Social Networks in News Organizations, with Mary Lou Fulton (Bakersfield Californian) and Tidbits contributor Rich Gordon (Medill School of Journalism).

(Disclosure: The KDMC is one of my consulting clients, but I am not involved with this conference.)
