After Huffington Post and others reported that Viacom was close to buying the Onion, execs at the humor paper posted a memo on their intranet with the headline: "Factual Error Found on Internet." The memo says the "bastions of journalism" reporting on an Onion deal with Viacom are not true: "Please treat these rumors as just that, rumors." Onion CEO Steve Hannah tells Doug Moe that no one at the Onion has been in negotiations with Viacom.
