NEW LINKS ADDED. John McCusker was depressed after he found out he didn't have enough insurance money to rebuild his Katrina-ravaged New Orleans home, say police. After being stopped for erratic driving, McCusker said several times, "Just kill me, get it over with, kill me." ||
An interview that he gave recently to a Brown University radio station no doubt illustrates some of the reasons for the incident, says E&P.||
E&P: "People are anxious to help him and the family," says a Times-Picayune editor. ||
Latest AJR: "McCusker says he had essentially become nonfunctional, a joker who had become humorless, a man who had given up cigarettes 20 years ago who was smoking two packs a day." ||
