ABC News
Veteran ABC News correspondent Lynn Sherr tells Stephen Battaglio: "When I got to New York out of college [in 1963, I] was told point-blank by every newspaper editor who interviewed me, "We don't hire girls." It was that simple. ... At the newsmagazines, if they were going to hire girls -- that's what we called ourselves then -- it was for the clip desk. A guy with the exact same education got hired as a junior writer. That's just the way it worked. Television -- forget it. Women certainly were not hired."
