Miami Herald | New Times Broward Palm Beach
The Herald says whatever faults there've been in its Radio Marti coverage, it's "plain wrong" to infer that the paper would intentionally try to help Fidel Castro. The Herald adds: "To the speculation that [our] new corporate owner is pulling the strings, ostensibly to pave the way for a bureau in Cuba: Not true." McClatchy news veep Howard Weaver says: "We have no plans to do so. ...Any speculation or assertion to the contrary is simply wrong."
