Women account for 57% of local TV news anchors. "There are some stations, I'm told, that have no male reporters," says Ball State University prof Bob Papper. "They can't find them, and if they can, that person is likely to be an anchor." At the University of Minnesota this fall, women outnumber men 227 to 125 in the professional journalism major, which includes broadcasting.
