Richard Perez-Pena reports the Bancroft family has told its lawyers to seek stronger guarantees of editorial independence as a condition of selling Dow Jones to Rupert Murdoch. Perez-Pena writes: "The essential complaint from the Bancrofts was that the [rejected] plan, which was under active consideration as late as Wednesday, did not go far enough in safeguarding the pages" of the Wall Street Journal from interference by Murdoch and News Corp.
