Pearson, publisher of the Financial Times, and General Electric are considering a joint bid for Dow Jones that would allow the Bancroft family to keep a minority interest in the company. GE and Pearson are discussing a plan under which each would take a roughly 40% or 45% stake in Dow Jones, with the Bancrofts holding 10% to 20%.
