There's "a lot of work going on" between General Electric and Pearson to put together an offer for Dow Jones, report Aaron O. Patrick and Sarah Ellison. They say some Bancroft family members are concerned that GE and Pearson might cut the Wall Street Journal's staff and shut the paper's international editions. One Bancroft says: "The fact that Murdoch wants to commit to dumping capital into the business after a sale is a good thing." But other family members say a GE-Pearson deal sounds like a good fit. || Related LAT story.
