Newspapers must be careful not to appear overly local-yokel

Playing up the local angle is fine, but you really don't need to see every Hartford Courant reference to President Bush including the tagline "formerly of New Haven, Conn., and a graduate of Yale University, which, by the way, is located in New Haven." Laurence Cohen says "that would seem over the top, even for local-angle admirers."
