The Bee has been criticized for waiting several days before publishing racial descriptions of suspects in the slaying of a young father and his 7-month-old son. Now, the paper's 15-year-old race ID policy is under review, and executive editor Rick Rodriguez leaning toward modifying it to allow the use of race as part of a general description of suspects.
