Birmingham News
The president of Birmingham's Southern Christian Leadership Conference chapter and others accuse the Birmingham News and editorial cartoonist Scott Stantis of trying to discredit black leaders. They complained about a cartoon that was mistakenly posted on the web. "We regret that happened," says editor Tom Scarritt. "We removed it, and we published an edited version of the cartoon in Tuesday's paper." || UPDATE: The two sides had a "useful discussion" on Friday and SCLC officials agreed to meet with the editorial board next week.
