Edwin O. Guthman's aggressive pursuit of Watergate stories for the Los Angeles Times earned him the enmity of President Nixon and the No. 3 spot on Nixon's infamous enemies list. Former LAT reporter Kenneth Reich once said that Guthman "was very proud to have made the enemies list," but outraged at the same time. After leaving the Times, he spent a decade at the Philadelphia Inquirer, then joined the faculty of USC's Annenberg School for Communication.
