A city that hosts an event as big as a political convention deserves a bit of levity. As many as 50,000 people are estimated to be wandering the streets of Denver, counting politicians, delegates, media-types and the merely curious. Jeepers.

Post said the way the text was crafted "pretty much oozed with style and illustrative opportunities." The graphic was written and researched by Barry Osborne and Kevin Dale. Illustrator Andrew Lucas sketched out ideas for the most interesting or whimsical events on the timeline.
"The difficult part for Andrew was to come up with a style that was not too goofy, but more of a likeness of each of the figures. We wanted it to be fun, but not silly," said Goertzen.
